Description

Index to the Iowa Genealogical Society’s Statehood, Pioneer, and Centennial ancestor certificates. Each index entry identifies an ancestor documented as having settled in Iowa by statehood in 1846, by 1856 for Pioneer status, or at least one hundred years before the date of application for a Centennial certificate. The online index provides the certificate number, ancestor’s surname, given and middle names, birth date, and the name of a spouse. Original certificate applications and supporting documentation are preserved in paper files at the Iowa Genealogical Society and are available for on-site use upon request.
